BENEATH THE SURFACE
Underwater fine art photography by Charlotte Bories
Where water becomes an inner landscape
Beneath the surface lies a realm of mystery and uncertainty :
sometimes dark and unsettling,
sometimes enchanted and ethereal.
Here, the boundary between reality and imagination begins to dissolve, revealing unseen landscapes and silent presences…
My art is an invitation to step into another world.
One that echoes the depths within ourselves.
New collection unveiling soon…
FOR YOUR WALLS
Museum-quality fine art prints, crafted to bring quiet depth and a sense of wonder into your everyday life.
This piece is part of the series “Just a Drop of Chaos” in which I explore the fragile space between dissolution and metamorphosis. Inspired by the primordial waters from which life first emerged, these images inhabit a world where darkness is fertile, where chaos creates new forms, and where beauty arises from uncertainty.
Each piece is created from underwater photographs layered with painterly textures.

Meet the artist
I’m a French fine art photographer drawn to the quiet ambiguity of the underwater world.
Working almost exclusively on a single breath, I create my images beneath the surface, where water transforms movement, light, and perception.
My artistic approach is rooted in the rich visual culture I studied at the Beaux-Arts, drawing inspiration from the Old Masters, contemporary photography, cinema… and evolving with each new series.
